The 100 International Film Festival is one of Iran’s most prominent and prestigious cinematic events, established in 1382 (Solar Hijri) to promote short film production and present creative storytelling within time constraints. Recognized as Iran’s most prestigious short film festival, it focuses on 100-second films and over more than two decades has become a platform for discovering young talents and showcasing innovative filmmakers from Iran and around the world.
Since the fifth edition, the 100 Film Festival has welcomed international submissions, with filmmakers from many countries participating. In addition to film screenings, the festival features specialized workshops, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, artistic empowerment programs, and experience-sharing workshops with prominent Iranian artists, distinguishing it from other festivals.
This year, the 14th edition was held in Tehran. A major highlight was the introduction of a special section titled “Free Palestine,” inviting concerned filmmakers worldwide to submit short films up to 300 seconds on the topic of Palestine and reflecting the crimes of the Israeli regime. This section received widespread attention from Iranian and international artists, becoming a platform for filmmakers’ artistic responses to realities related to Palestine.
In the 14th edition of the 100-second film festival, 3,018 works from 137 countries were submitted to the festival secretariat, of which 192 films from 45 countries were screened across different sections of the festival.
