The Symbolic Statue of the Conqueror of Khaybar Unveiled at Imam Khomeini Square;
On Saturday night, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Amir al-Momenin Ali (peace be upon him), the symbolic statue “Conqueror of Khaybar” was unveiled at Imam Khomeini Square in Tehran. Constructed through the efforts of Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization, the statue symbolizes the bond between the light of Wilayah and the spirit of resistance in Iran’s capital and is intended to herald a victorious future.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Development Organization, during the unveiling ceremony of the symbolic statue “Conqueror of Khaybar,” the presence and role of Amir al-Momenin, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), throughout the history of Islam were recreated and portrayed through theatrical performance, performers’ movements, sound and music, and lighting, effectively depicting the historical journey, sacrifices, and efforts of this great Imam in promoting Islam.
One of the most impactful parts of the ceremony was the simultaneous climax of combat scenes accompanied by epic music broadcast from loudspeakers installed at Imam Khomeini Square, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The reenactment of the Battle of Khaybar—considered one of the largest field performances in the country—was staged in twelve acts, spanning from the conquest of Khaybar to the Twelve-Day War, illustrating the struggle between good and evil, truth and falsehood.
Throughout the performance, the stage was repeatedly divided into two camps: the camp of truth and the camp of falsehood, with some performers standing against Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and others alongside him. At the conclusion, the banner of truth was entrusted by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), by divine permission, to Amir al-Momenin, who charged the enemy with his sword Zulfiqar, reenacting the conquest of Khaybar once again.
The fusion of light displays with the powerful performances of the artists created vivid and energetic scenes, prompting the audience to chant “Haydar, Haydar,” generating an indescribable enthusiasm blended with the sounds of drums and cymbals.
The screening of images of women and children from Gaza during the unveiling of “Conqueror of Khaybar” added a deeper spiritual dimension to the ceremony. Given the coincidence of Imam Ali’s birth anniversary with the martyrdom anniversary of Haj Qasem Soleimani, the appearance of an actor portraying this martyred commander and the repetition of his famous phrase, “We are a nation of martyrdom; we are the nation of Imam Hussein,” drew the audience’s attention. Finally, with the raising of Iran’s flag, the message of the performance was completed: just as Imam Ali opened the gates of Khaybar, the Iranian nation, following his example, will uproot the gates of oppression and stand against the world’s arrogant powers.
