A Woman’s Struggle to Protect Children Amid War
The Land of Angels portrays the war in Gaza through the experiences of children who lose their families and sense of security amid attacks. The story centers on Duha, a Palestinian woman who has already lost her husband and two daughters. After another attack, she encounters Noor, her neighbor’s daughter, who has lost her parents. Duha tries to save Noor and find shelter for her. As more children are left without their families, she also attempts to care for them.

Through Duha’s efforts to protect the children, the film explores loss, fear and the struggle to survive as war disrupts everyday life.

Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji stars in the film, alongside child actors from Iran, Syria and Lebanon.
