Celebration of “Mahfel” at the Tomb of Hafez in Shiraz

On the occasion of Hafez Commemoration Day, honoring the great Iranian poet

The television program Mahfel, a popular Qur’anic show produced by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), holds special celebrations with the public during significant events and by traveling to various cities. One of these celebrations was organized in Shiraz, coinciding with Hafez Commemoration Day, beside the tomb of this renowned poet. Khwāja Shams al-Dīn Muhammad Hafez Shirazi, one of the most famous Iranian poets, was not only known for his celebrated poetry but also for memorizing the Qur’an, the holy book of Muslims.
