Grand Public Celebration “Ghadir Feast”
Held on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir
The “Ghadir Feast” is one of the largest celebrations held on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, in memory of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the first Imam of the Shia. This ceremony takes place in Tehran along a ten-kilometer route, where numerous service tents (mawakib) are set up to provide food, drinks, and various cultural products. Joyful and entertaining programs, a temporary amusement park for children, and artistic stage performances are also part of this great public celebration. In addition to Tehran, other cities across Iran also celebrate the day of Eid al-Ghadir.
