“Ghadir Feast”: A Grand Public Celebration in Iran

Held on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir

The “Ghadir Feast” is one of the largest celebrations held on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, in memory of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the first Imam of the Shia. In this ten-kilometer-long ceremony, millions of people gather in Tehran to celebrate the day of Eid al-Ghadir. Throughout the festival, numerous service tents (mawakib) are set up, offering food, drinks, and a wide range of cultural products. Joyful entertainment programs, a temporary amusement park for children, and artistic stage performances are also part of this grand public celebration. In addition to Tehran, the Ghadir Feast is also held in other cities across Iran.
