Worldwide, murals are used as an effective medium to present cultural and social information and messages to society, communicating with broad audiences through the language of art. Iran is also active in this field, and the Islamic Propaganda Organization has two prominent murals in Tehran, the capital of Iran, both of which are of national and international significance.
The mural at Revolution Square, the largest mural in the West Asia region, is installed on the northwest side of Revolution Square in Tehran and began its activity in 1401 of the Iranian solar calendar. Located in one of Tehran’s main and busiest squares, this mural has gradually become an influential urban medium, attracting the attention of millions of Tehran citizens and receiving coverage in domestic and international media and social networks.
The mural at Palestine Square, installed on the southeast side of Palestine Square in Tehran, has from its inception in 1401 focused its mission on the axis of resistance and the Palestinian cause. During the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation, this mural received wide attention in Israeli media and news networks through anti-Zionist designs and even content translated into Hebrew, provoking reactions from Israeli authorities and international media, including the New York Times.
